Why is shrink wrap a game changer?
It will keep your project on track. If it rains, work continues. This puts you at an advantage as you can provide the client with a realistic price. One where the schedule is not delayed causing costs to accumulate for rent and daily labour and equipment hire. It also makes your project the preferred place to be for subbies. Wouldn’t you rather work undercover where you are protected from rain, wind and UV? Where it is dry and the temperature can be controlled.
What is your square metre rate?
There is no particular square metre rate as it can depend on the design and shape of the project that is being wrapped. If there is a project you are considering wrapping, contact us on 0800 4 A1 Wrap to arrange a site visit.
Will it withstand coastal winds?
It’s important that the right systems and methodology are followed during the encapsulation process to combat large eternal forces. We design the scaffolding around the project specifically to endure strong winds. Our shrink wrap is guaranteed up to 50km/hr on a coastal area.
Who provides the scaffolding?
Scaffolding is not one of the services we provide. Instead, we have tight relationships with specialised scaffolders to allow for a strong wrap and better longevity. Every job is unique. A location may have large amounts of water or wind, so our preference is to match you with the right scaffolder for the job. We keep it simple by including the scaffolding costs as part of our quote. If you do have a preferred scaffolding supplier, we are happy to work with them to get the same result.
Do you need scaffolding for every job?
For the majority of jobs scaffolding is used. There are some instances where shrink wrap can be shrunk directly on to the existing frame. Some cargo and roofs fall in to this category. A site visit can help to determine the requirements of your project.
How is the shrink wrap applied?
The correctly measured shrink wrap is manually put in to position and rolled or draped across the surface. Next, the pieces of shrink wrap are joined together using intense heat from a shrink wrap gun and a welding glove. Once the seams have been created, heat is carefully applied to the shrink wrap in sections to shrink it to the object below.
How far in advance do I need to book?
Two weeks’ notice is ideal. We do however understand that timeframes change so we are flexible.
Do you still provide labour and tool hire?
Yes, we provide tool hire for HILTI power tools. We also have aluminium scaffolding available for hire. We no longer provide labour hire.
What happens once the job is confirmed?
Once the contract is signed, your main contact will be our Operations Manager. They will work with you to establish project timeframes, organise any relevant staff inductions and assemble a team for your required project dates.
How do you make Health and Safety a priority?
It’s important to us that everyone gets home safely at the end of the day. We ensure our team are up to date with the necessary safety requirements including first aid, height safe and site safe. We also work with quality shrink wrap and tools to ensure the job is done right. You can have peace of mind that there are no cowboys at A1 Wrap, cutting corners is not our business.
Why is A1 Wrap a great place to work?
We believe it’s part of our job to create a positive internal culture. We look after one another because we are team. Each month one of our staff is awarded our Matu Patu award to recognise their hard work. It is an award that acknowledges our diversity and the strengths we admire in individuals.
